Food With A History

The Trail Days Cafe and museum provides a unique experience with food and history.  Here you see, smell, hear, touch, and taste history.  Our menu offers American Indian, Old World, Early American, and 20th Century foods that are made the old fashioned way--from  scratch. We have everything from Kansas prairie bred and fed Roast Buffalo ( Flint Hills Prairie Bison Preserve, Alta Vista, KS) and Kansas bred and fed Elk( Prairie Thunder Elk, Alta Vista, KS) to our 1902 Hamburger--ground in a fourth generation, Burdick,KS meatmarket (owned by Gary and Marilyn Hageberg) and served on a homemade bun.

You will be dining in a museum, so after you order your food, we hope you will read the history display on your table, look over our brochure and history sheet, tour the home, and explore our small library.  If time permits, we would love to answer any questions you may have regarding the Maple Camp Complex, Indian pictograph, Kansas history, and local history.

Our prices may change, so be sure to check with us regarding current prices.
