Come and experience a restaurant that transports you back to a time when wagons rolled by the front door and Kanza Indians came calling at the back door. Eat American Indian food, taste Old World and Early American food adapted by the settlers to their prairie existence, and treat your palate to the food that evolved as America moved into the 20th Century. Historic food Savor made-from-scratch foods like the German  Schnitzel shown here with Cole Slaw, Mashed Potatoes, Dark Rye Bread, Cherry Iced Tea and Strawberry-Rhubarb Pie (not always available, we have varied desserts). The "History Happens Here" information display on the table is changed each month to feature a different event, site, or person in local history.

After ordering your historic food you are invited to view the museum exhibits. The most fantastic of the museum exhibits is an Indian pictograph cut into the original walnut back door casing. Indian pictograph
